BISE Lahore Revises Passing Criteria for Subjects

BISE Lahore Revises Passing Criteria for Subjects in Matric & Intermediate annual examination 2024. In order to pass a subject, a candidate must now obtain at least 33% of the total marks allotted to the subject, provided that the candidate also obtains at least 33% marks in theory papers I and II. This revised policy will be implemented with immediate effect for both SSC & HSSC examinations results.

According to new grading formula for Grade 9 candidates will obtain at least 40% marks in all subjects to pass the annual examination of Matric Part 1 and 2. This grading formula is compulsory for all educational institutes in Pakistan. While the GPA will be mentioned on the result cards of the students.

“Physics has 200 marks in total, with 170 marks for theory papers I and II and 30 marks for the practical paper. If a candidate obtains 66/200 (33%) in Physics (theory + practical), he/she will be declared pass provided that the candidate has also obtained at least 56/170 (33%) in theory papers alone.

If the candidate obtains less than 66/200 (33%) aggregate marks or less than 56/170 (33%) marks in theory alone, he/she may reappear in the particular paper only (I or II) where marks are less than 28 or in practical only if marks are less than 10.”
